Droevig nieuws vandaag want voormalig F1-teambaas Eddie Jordan is afgelopen nacht overleden.

Eddie Jordan overleed op 76-jarige leeftijd en was een spraakmakend figuur in de Formule 1. Jordan was teambaas van de gelijknamige F1-renstal (tegenwoordig bekend als het Aston Martin F1 team) en vervolgens verslaggever en commentator. In zijn functie van teambaas stond hij mee aan de basis van de carrière van verschillende rijders die doorbraken in de Formule 1. Onder andere Jean Alesi en Michael Schumacher reden tijdens hun begindagen voor Eddie Jordan.

Na zijn F1-carrière bleef Eddie Jordan verbonden aan de Formule 1 en presenteerde hij ook een podcast met David Coulthard. De F1-wereld betuigt via de sociale media haar medeleven. Eddie Jordan laat een vrouw en vier kinderen na.
