Als zesvoudig F1-kampioen Lewis Hamilton stond eerder deze week langs de kant van de weg staan met een lekke band. Hamilton besloot daarover een post te doen op zijn sociale media kreeg daarop de nodige commentaar over zich heen.

“We hadden een lekke band en moesten bij het benzinestation stoppen,” aldus Hamilton. “Het vroeg maar een minuutje om de band te wisselen alvorens ik opnieuw in mijn Mercedes EQC verder kon. Gelukkig moest ik hier niet tanken.”
Met dat laatste verwijst Hamilton uiteraard naar het feit dat hij veel liever bij zijn sponsor Petronas zou tanken. De zesvoudig F1-kampioen kreeg echter de nodige hilarische reacties en kritiek op zijn post.
Uiteraard werd ook al snel de vergelijking gemaakt met de dramatische pitstop van Mercedes tijdens de GP van Duitsland in 2019. Daarnaast kreeg de Brit ook de nodige kritiek op zijn kledingstijl en het feit dat er blijkbaar iemand anders de band aan het vervangen was terwijl hij doodleuk foto’s aan het nemen was …
