Tijdens de tweede oefensessie voor de GP van Stiermarken ging Daniel Ricciardo zwaar van de baan en in de bandenmuur. Zijn Renault F1-bolide raakte dan ook ernstig beschadigd maar Ricciardo zelf stapte zonder kleerscheuren uit.
