Tijdens de voormiddag werden de teams en rijders in Bahrein geconfronteerd met regen. Inderdaad, regen in de woestijn van Bahrein. Voor deze test moesten de teams zelfs ‘banden bestellen’ en opmerkelijk genoeg waren er toch enkele teams die bij Pirelli ‘regenbanden’ besteld hadden. Gelukkig werd het later tijdens de voormiddag droger en kon er wel voluit getest worden. Tijdens de voormiddag was Lewis Hamilton voorlopig de snelste.
